Daniel and Casey and their family and friends convened at a beautiful private home nearby the beach in Dennis, MA. Though their wedding ceremony was supposed to be hosted at the beach, they made the right decision in moving the service under the huge tent they'd rented for the home's backyard. The rain was drizzling on and off all afternoon, but as soon as Casey was ready to be walked to the altar under the tent, the rain down poured such that we arranged for one bridesmaid to hand a guest's golf umbrella from one to the other, finally passing the umbrella to her brother who held her close and shielded her from the few feet of heavy rain between the house and the tent.
It was quite comfortable under the tent, and the tent's lighting created a soft glow that gave it a romantic ambiance. With music playing in the background and pretty flowers on the yard's perimeter, family and friends seemed to enjoy themselves as they gathered together to witness Daniel and Casey's wedding service.
Daniel is no shy guy, and he wasn't going to let this rain effect his wedding day. He mingled with guests and laughed with his groomsmen, eager for his bride's arrival. The guys had just finished a photo session on the beach (right before the rain started pouring) and he was so happy to be with his loved ones.
Their service was simple and sweet, with a custom sand ceremony whereby they each decanted different colored sand into the larger glass container, symbolizing their newly combined histories into one life together as husband and wife. The rain poured on the perimeter of the tent, as this lovely couple poured the sand from their respective decanters, as if nature herself was moving in synchrony with their actions. It was quite beautiful, really, with all of their friends and family cozy and comfortable under the tent, smiling and oohing and aahing at the beautiful pair. Cameras were snapping as they exchanged their vows and wiped away a tear or two. It was a very touching ceremony for two!
Congratulations Daniel and Casey! May you bask in the love of friends and family as you begin your journey together as husband and wife, for their love for you both truly brought the sun out, despite mother nature's tempest. Sunny days are ahead!
